Things don’t change unless we do and you need to understand yourself before you can make choices about what you’re going to change. Don’t be afraid to take some time to dwell on your life, your choices, and what you have done, or haven’t done, that got you where you are. This means consciously looking at things without assigning any blame. Ask yourself why and listen to your answers. #selflove #selfesteem #empoweringwomen #empowerment #codependentnomore #mentalhealthawareness #loveyourself #pride #lgbtq #over50 #over50blogger #femme #femmeblogger #houstonblogger #chubbyblogger #coach #lifestyleblogger #lifecoach #wellnesswednesday #wellness

Everyone has a story, here’s part of mine
“I’m part of a generation or two of women, women of a certain age, who struggled with sexual identity and the “shoulds” our parents shared with us. We were raised to believe our worth was tied to our ability to find a man. Every time I approached my sexuality, I was stopped, not finding the lesbian community. Finally, I was able to accept myself just on my own. Here I am a 50+ year old woman coming out (3 years ago) and hoping to help other older women find their way home.”
Thanks so much to Pride Portraits for allowing me to be part of this project. Pride Portraits is the brain child of Eric Edward Schell and Hugo Perez, they live and work here in Houston, Texas they met in the San Francisco Bay Area during one of the earliest Pride Portrait sittings Eric held. Thank you so much Pride Portraits for your work in our community!
And, here’s my daughter Sarah
“I’m a gay man in a woman’s body. I love everything leather lifestyle. Trying to find room in the community has been very hard. Most places don’t know how to take my feminine girl who’s a man.”
New, eco-friendly, business cards from MOO, if I’m being totally honest I’m not sure that the quality is equal to the cost. I’ve ordered many cards from Vistaprint and have always been very happy with quality/cost, I just wanted to do something different to showcase my new branding. You live, you learn, right?
Good news is that I’ve totally settled into my branding, and every card I’ve shared so far has been greeted with a smile of delight – you can’t hold my card and not know it’s 100% me.
Now I need to get my portfolio site in order – keeping a current resume is really important, mine hasn’t been updated since last May – YIKES!
Here’s some Skrillex to brighten your day. You’re welcome.
Woke up to a panic attack. Please remember that with every swipe of the pen our rights are being removed, and our way of living becomes more precarious. There may come a time in the very near future when being a lesbian is considered a crime. #alternativefacts are going to be spoon fed while scientists are gagged and threatened for telling the truth. Today I wonder about those people who argued so vehemently about this being the right choice for America, I want to know is it just for white heterosexual male America? Veterens benefits are being cut, aren’t the scars, mental and physical, from serving our country pre-existing medical conditions? If I feel darkness overwhelming me today then I have to be afraid for those who reside in that shadow everyday. Please reach out – someone you know needs you.
It’s the little things that keep you stuck. Those tiny habits and choices that add up to the unconscious moments of your life. For instance: What thoughts are you thinking? Are they positive or negative? Are you drinking too much caffeine, using too much sugar or sweetener? Are you pushing snooze one time too many? Always attracted to the “bad boy” or “bad girl”. Always shopping at the same store, going through the same comfortable movements? You need to go where you don’t know what to expect in order to make real change. Big changes can feel good, but they aren’t always lasting if you don’t make small changes to support it. It’s like dropping a people in calm water, the littlest things can make the biggest ripples in your life.
