A lovely “how to”

I was peeking around the web back in June, trying to find patterns for t-shirt dresses and found this simple little dress that’s just darling.  I wanted to post it so I wouldn’t forget where I found it.  LOL! Today I thought I’d update the post with more links and information.

I’ve just found this posting BurdaStyle Black Infinity where the maker added a wider waist band and a square skirt, very cute. BurdaStyle also has a lovely version in a print with a narrower skirt. And, Flickr has a group devoted to the versatility of this dress named convertible and infinity dresses. This is one of the cutest versions Infinity dress for my Mommy, I love it as a top with the bow in the front, you could wear a normal bra with it tied that way because you have maximum coverage in the back. Craftster has a forum topic dedicated to it quickie dress that anybody can make.

This last link from So, I sew adds some extra work with the addition of a pieced a line skirt and elastic at the waist and top of the attached waistband/tube top which might be helpful for a larger bust. And, speaking of larger busts, check out the video of how to tie the dress for larger girls from Monif C.

Many retailers including Donna Karan and American Apparel have done a version of this dress.

Here’s a link to a tutorial from the blog Making Things on making circle skirts, though as the pages I’ve viewed show, the dress can be made with a straighter skirt, a square handkerchief skirt and a ruched skirt
